Participating in Smart Creation of Premiere Vision from 17^th until 19^th of September, Varvaressos S.A. integrated the world premiere presentation of the unique system of solutions in the sustainable fashion, Supreme Green Cotton, receiving the most fervent response for this unique project.

This month, Varvaressos S.A. took part in a broadcast of Deutsche Welle, regarding the European production of a t-shirt. The show highlighted that in 2019, vigorous and intensive efforts are being made in order to support and reinforce the European production. As leaders in these efforts, we emphasized in our sustainable practices, which are being applied throughout the whole European textile production chain.

n February 2019 Varvaressos S.A. was certified by STeP by OEKO-TEX® for Sustainable Textile Production, as the first spinning mill in Greece.

Varvaressos S.A. was able to provide extremely satisfactory answers to all questions exclusion criteria and complies with the highest requirements of STeP by OEKO-TEX® Standard level 3 with regard to its structure, processes and management systems.

The assessment examines how to handle chemicals and hazardous materials, implement an environmental management system, corporate responsibility for employees, effective quality management and workplace safety.

Varvaressos’ new protocol SIS (Sustainable Innovation Standard) shows the importance of the transparent supply chain in the holistic approach of sustainability. The company has already made great progress in this area, confirmed by the STeP by OEKO-TEX® auditors, and has set new goals in terms of transparency and traceability.

The European Commission has withdrawn the licence of international organic certifier to prevent organic fraud as the latter failed to demonstrate the traceability and organic status of many products from five countries — Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. The EU commission explained its decision in EU regulation 2019/446 of 19 March 2019.

Varvaressos S.A. has once again participated in FILO Milan yarn exhibition. The 51st edition of FILO, the international yarn and fiber exhibition that was held in Milan on 27 and 28 February 2019, was once again a success. Dedicated to our sustainable practices and change, we presented our products, in accordance with fare’s Sustainability project.

The main focus of the textile industry over the last few years is sustainability along the production. It represents a crucial topic among the industry, due to the growing shortage of resources and rising awareness among consumers about ecological and social issues.

Acting in the industry of textile more than 50 years, we put this obligation into practice and we present our sustainable products in FILO Milan on the 27th and 28th of February 2019.

Interfilere Paris is one of the most important fairs globally for the high end underwear market.

Well known brands from all over the world showed their particular interest for the unique project of Supreme Green Cotton, due to the fact that it is an integrated solution, that corresponds to the actual market needs for
